Badminton is an excellent alternative sport to tennis.
What makes badminton so desirous is that it can be played in all weathers and the courts are found at church centers, Sports facilities, YMCA buildings and sometimes situated on their own dedicated to badminton players only.
Equipment for badminton are of course badminton racquets and shuttlecocks.
The shuttlecock is a very light object, cylinder, often made of cork for lightness at one end with a circlet of feathers at the other end.
The feathers were originally real feathers but with the passage of time plastic feathers are put on most shuttlecocks as they seem more durable than the feather ones.
You only need two players, two racquets, two shuttlecocks or birdies and one net to play with full arm movements swinging the light shuttlecock from one court to the other.
With just the racquets and a shuttlecock it is a fun activity out in the open with a line drawn on the sand and excellent exercise and good for interaction.
